UAPRN Kicks Off Free Virtual Meetings Statewide
United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Ga. will host free virtual town hall meetings around the state beginning Sept. 8.

UAPRN (United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses) of Georgia will host a series of virtual town hall meetings around the state to inform Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) how the recent passage of Georgia Senate Bill 321 will affect their work. Current legislators and legislative candidates from the Georgia districts represented by the UAPRN chapters listed below will participate in the meetings. The virtual Town Hall meetings are open to the public and free to attend. Details and registration information may be found at www.georgiansunitedforhealthcare.org/events.
UAPRN worked with state legislators, nurses, media and the public to generate and communicate support for the bill, which allows APRNs to order routine advanced radiographic imaging tests and removes several barriers for Georgia’s Physician Assistants. It passed both Georgia legislative bodies and was signed into law by Governor Kemp Aug. 4. Each virtual tour stop will highlight the chapter and its members, recognize and celebrate frontline healthcare workers and chapter heroes, highlight local accomplishments and discuss the organization’s future goals and events. In addition, a new award honoring APRNs will be announced, and the 2020 winner will be named. All meetings will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on the following days:
- Gwinnett/Forsyth Counties, Sept. 8, Chapter President Regina Canty
- Atlanta, Sept. 10, Chapter President Nicole Bello
- Fayette County, Sept. 15, Chapter President Tiffani Adatsi
- Columbus, Sept. 17, Chapter President Pamela Shaw
- Augusta, Sept. 22, Chapter President Pam Cromer
