Acworth Community Conversation Part 2 Set For Oct. 7

On behalf of the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, and City Staff we would like to invite you to be a part of our second community conversation taking place on Wednesday, October 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Acworth Community Center. As promised, this meet and greet event is a follow up to our first Community Conversation where we hosted a panel of community leaders to discuss current events that include race, prejudice, social injustice, and strategies to bring our community closer together. The Conversation continues when we get together in a more casual setting with the intent to develop relationships between the community and city leadership. We will have representatives from the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, Cobb County District Commissioner Keli Gamrbill, city department heads (Power, Public Works, Police, Finance, Human Resources, Community Development, Administration, Parks, and Recreation), and panelists from the last event available to continue the conversation with you. Coffee will be provided, we just need your help in bringing the conversation! This will be a great opportunity to meet your community leadership and learn more about your city government in the process.

Due to COVID-19 group size restrictions, we ask that you RSVP to the event. You can RSVP to communityconversation@acworth.org by Friday, October 2.

In addition, save the date for Thursday, November 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Acworth Community Center. The city has partnered with the Acworth Business Association, the Georgia Small Business Development Center, and Earnest Davis with E3 consulting to host part three of the conversation, a Minority, Women, and Veteran owned business seminar. The program will be designed to help these businesses understand certifications, national organizations, the benefits, and how to market you and your business to an audience that is looking to purchase goods and services from you. This event will have limited in person availability, but will also have a virtual option. Registration information will be announced at part two of the Community Conversation on October 7.
