Acworth Girl's Poetry Draws Praise
The nine-year-old won an honorable mention in a literary magazine's poetry contest.
A nine-year-old Acworth girl was mentioned in a global magazine featuring children’s authors for a poem she submitted as part of a contest, The Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Abigail Cargo received an honorable mention in the March 2014 Cricket League Poetry Competition for her entry “Hawk.” Her name will be featured in the July/August 2014 issue of the magazine.
Cricket currently publishes 14 magazines target for children’s learning, and has been in operation since 1973. Their portfolio of magazines has won every major literary award in North America, according to their website.
