Body Of Missing Smyrna Woman Found In Allatoona Lake ID'd
A Smyrna woman reported missing was found in Allatoona Lake on Sunday, state officials say.
SMYRNA, GA -- The body of a Cobb County woman who had been reported missing was recovered Sunday in Allatoona Lake, state officials said. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) identified the woman as 55-year-old Rhonda Tibbs of Smyrna.
Tibbs' body was found and recovered around 12:30 p.m. by the DNR's Law Enforcement Game Wardens near Park Marina, the agency said Sunday. Tibbs was last seen on the dock at the marina on Friday night.
The DNR said that officers conducted a search as soon as they received the missing person's report. The operation went throughout the day Saturday and began again at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Bartow County officials also launched an investigation into Tibb's disappearance, the DNR said.
To aid their search, Game Wardens deployed sonar equipment and a remote-operated vehicle.
