Man Taken Into Custody After SWAT Standoff In Acworth

ACWORTH, GA — After a man barricaded himself inside an Acworth home, Cobb Police has arrested the man, media outlets are reporting.

The AJC reported that "no one was injured in the standoff that shut down access to roads in a subdivision off Dallas Acworth Highway near Lake Acworth."

Police told WSB-TV that they were "working to get a wanted person out of a home on Bay Harbor Cay." A source told reporters that the man was involved in a hit-and-run, left the scene and went to the Acworth home and then refused to come out on Wednesday morning.

Residents are still able to come in and out of the surrounding area.
