Former Acworth Sunday School Teacher Arrested for Sexual Assault

ACWORTH, GA -- Jonathan Martinez, who taught Sunday school classes at an Acworth church for several years, has been arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a student in 2013.

Martinez, 27, was arrested earlier this week in Brunswick, and is awaiting transfer back to Cobb County to face the charges, reports WSB-TV.

Police believe there may be other victims, but after recent illegal immigration raids, some immigration activists are concerned that no one will come forward to a law enforcement official to speak.

Martinez is also alleged to have videotaped another assault on a cellphone that took place on some private property. The church was renting an Acworth property at the time of the incident.
