Local Star gets to ride in the Atlanta Ride for Kids!
In spite of his condition, Star Matthew will get to enjoy a motorcycle ride in the Atlanta Ride for Kids.
This is our little Matthew. Our little miracle. He was diagnosed 7/8/14 and is beating terminal brain cancer.
His tumor has the stunningly rare mutation as skin cancer, so they are trying an adult melanoma medication, and it is keeping the tumor stable! In June of 2016, 4-year-old Matthew graduated from hospice, and he is thriving as the trial drug keeps his tumor from growing any further amidst the tightest and most vital part of his brain.
Please join us in praying that Matthew does not develop a resistance to this life saving chemo, as they are predicting he may in this next year. And please praise with us, that the research is working!

It’s for Stars like Matthew that we ride in the Atlanta Ride for Kids. We take the Stars and their families out for an hour long, carefree ride for them to forget their daily battle. We also use this opportunity to raise awareness and much needed money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Thankfully, in Matthew’s case, where he can’t be exposed to direct sunlight because of his treatment, VIP Escort Pete Hefele is able to provide a fully covered sidecar so he can safely enjoy the ride.
Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) is the world's largest nonprofit funder of research into cures for childhood brain tumors. PBTF has funded more than $28 million to date, supporting the best and brightest at institutions nationwide. For families battling the deadliest form of childhood cancer, PBTF provides hope, educational resources, scholarships, financial aid and opportunities to meet other families.
