In Loving Memory of Michael Workinger, 66

Michael Workinger, 66, of Acworth, GA, passed away July 18, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on August 25, 1948. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Barnett and his father, Verner Workinger. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ellen Workinger; daughter, Megan (Aaron) Austin of Acworth; son, Kent (Mandy) Workinger of Dunwoody; grandson, Adam Austin; sister, Ann (Tim) Tully of Indianapolis; step father, Max Barnett of Indianapolis and two nephews. Michael was well known in the area for announcing various sports at KSU, Pope HS, Hillgrove HS, Pebblebrook HS, Shorter College, UGA, GA Tech, and Poly Tech. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 5-8pm, Marietta Funeral Home at 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, Ga. Funeral service will be held July 23, 2:00pm at the Catholic Church of St. Ann 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name at www.cancer.org.
