New Braves Stadium Construction Begins Soon; Help Wanted
The four-firm partnership plans to turn shovels by September, and wants to generate as much activity for the local economy as possible.

The group behind the construction of the Atlanta Braves’ new stadium in the Smyrna-Vinings area will soon begin work at the site, but are inviting private companies to submit bids for contracts on site.
The news comes on the heels of new renderings of the finished project created by the Braves that feature a large swimming pool beyond the right field seats.
According to Atlanta INtown, the images are not official as the design is still being worked on. The Marietta Daily Journal reports that Rob Taylor, the principal in chief of the four firms collaborating to build the stadium before opening day 2017, said that fans will have much to look forward to at the new ballpark.

Taylor is the top man at American Bulders 2017, a conglomeration of Brasfield & Gorrie, Mortenson Construction, Barton Marlow Company, and Atlanta’s own New South Construction. Crews will begin grading the site in September, making the 60 acre plot of land level enough for construction to begin.
Project Director Len Moser added that although the firm will try to hire as many local contractors and construction workers as they can, skilled labor is at a premium. Moser said that the construction of two stadiums (for the Falcons and the Braves) added to the booming downtown construction market, has made it hard to find more helping hands. He estimated that the site will need around 1,000 workers during peak construction phases.
