Report: Two Dead in Cobb Shootout

Cobb police say two people were killed and two others injured during an early Sunday evening shooting near Austell.

Authorities have identified the two men killed as 20-year-old David Blount of Smyrna and 24-year-old Ryan Christopher Bobbitt of Marietta.

The incident took place at approximately 6:20 p.m. along Cardell Road.

WSB TV reported that at least five people were involved in the shootout and that authorities were searching for a person who fled from the scene. It’s not clear if he was considered a suspect or victim by police, who reportedly found a gun thought to used in the shooting.

The individual being sought was described as having long dreads and wearing a gray hoodie.
