Maintenance worker at Subway shop opens fire on man who tried to rob eatery, police say.

ACWORTH, GA -- Cobb County police are investigating after a Subway sandwich shop employee opened fire on a man who police said tried to rob the restaurant, according to news reports.

The incident happened Monday about 10:30 a.m., spokesman Capt. Mark Cheatham told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

An employee doing maintenance work shot Deandre Antonio Yates, 20, of Cincinnati, at the eatery at 3305 Acworth Oaks Drive, Cheatham told the AJC.
