Third Acworth Man Arrested in Armed Robbery of College Students

Two Morehouse College students were robbed at gunpoint last week in Cherokee County.

ACWORTH, GA -- A third Acworth man  has been apprehended in connection to last week's armed robbery of two college students in southwest Cherokee County.

Khari Rashan Latimer, 24, of Acworth was arrested Thursday evening in Cobb County on an armed robbery warrant secured by investigators with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.

Fellow Acworth residents Ceddrick Turner and Dearius Waldon, both 19, were both arrested earlier this week in connection to the robbery.

The trio are accused of robbing at gunpoint two Morehouse College students of an undisclosed amount of money, jewelry and a cell phone midday Friday, April 8 in the breezeway of an apartment complex in southwest Cherokee County.

Baker said additional arrests are possible as the incident remains under investigation. Latimer is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
