1 Death, Multiple At Hospital After Carbon Monoxide In Milton

Milton Police are investigating after a car was unintentionally left on in a Milton town home garage that resulted in one death.

MILTON, GA — Members of the Milton Police and Fire-Rescue departments responded Thursday morning to a medical call as well as a reported carbon monoxide alarm at town homes off Highway 9. The carbon monoxide incident resulted in one fatality.

The City of Milton does not have updates on the conditions of those people transported to area hospitals as of Friday morning.

The reported incident was at the Wyndham neighborhood on Regatta Grove.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the unoccupied vehicle was left running accidentally in one of the town home's garages.

Upon further investigation, firefighters identified at least seven patients in various town homes and carbon monoxide levels in some residences above healthy ranges.

Ambulances transported several patients to local hospitals.

The response also involved support from Alpharetta Fire and Police, as well as American Medical Response ambulances.

The Milton Fire and Police departments are investigating the incident.
