Agriculture Documentary Screened Wednesday In Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA — The City of Alpharetta’s Community Agriculture Program is hosting a free screening of the documentary film, "The Biggest Little Farm", on Wednesday at 6 p.m. This film, which has been screened at multiple film festivals around the world, fits well into the city program’s desire to offer education and inspiration through agriculture.

"The Biggest Little Farm" chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature.

Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature's conflicts, the Chesters unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination.

Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature’s call, "The Biggest Little Farm" provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

A panel of local growers, educators, and students will follow the film. They will share their stories of struggle and success growing food right here in North Fulton for local restaurants, schools, farmers markets, Community Supported Agriculture and wholesale customers.

“We are excited to bring this film to the community. We see a desire in people; they are looking for ways to be better connected to their food, know where it comes from, and have a closer connection with the earth,” said City of Alpharetta Community Agriculture Coordinator, Emily Dillard. “This film is inspirational, and the panel of local growers and educators will bring it all home for the audience.”

The event is co-hosted by the City of Alpharetta’s Community Agriculture Program, the North Fulton Young Farmers, the Fulton County Library in Alpharetta, and the Alpharetta Natural Resources Commission.
