Alpharetta To Host Mayorβs Corporate Challenge 5K On Aug. 23
The annual Mayor's Corporate Challenge 5K Run/Walk, to be held on Aug. 23, will support the Alpharetta Rotary Club's charitable projects.

ALPHARETTA, GA β The annual Mayorβs Corporate Challenge 5K Race will take place on Thursday, Aug. 23, in historic downtown Alpharetta. Sponsored by LexisNexis Risk Solutions, the Mayorβs Corporate Challenge is an annual fundraiser hosted by the city and the Rotary Club of Alpharetta to raise money to support a number of local and international projects.
All of the funds raised from the event will be donated to organizations focusing on disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, peace/conflict prevention resolution, maternal and child health, and other causes.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Rotary Club of Alpharetta and the 22nd annual Mayorβs Corporate Challenge. The event will include Food Truck Alley, live music and entertainment. Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to relax at the post-race block party.

Here's the schedule of the Mayorβs Corporate Challenge:
- 5 p.m. β Food, Fun, Festivities and Music
- 5:30 p.m. β Pre-Race Registration and Race Number Pick-up
- 6:30 p.m. β Free Kids Fun Run (pre-registration required)
- 7 p.m. β Start Time - 5K Run/Walk featuring the Corporate Challenge
- 8 p.m. β Awards

Registration Fees: 5K Run/Walk: $30; Kids Fun Run: free (does not include shirt)
Last yearβs event raised about $100,000, which was used to support non-profit organizations that help homeless children, mothers and families by providing transition housing, life skills training, budgeting skills and vocational training.

Local charities that benefited directly from the funds raised by previous Mayorβs Challenge races include North Fulton Community Charities, The Drake House, StandUp for Kids, Homestretch, The Lionheart School, YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, City of Refuge and many others. The funds also had a global impact on polio eradication, literacy projects, clean water projects and humanitarian and medical aid.
