Avalon Hosts Alpharetta's Night Out

This free, family-friendly event will be held Oct. 19 and brings together law enforcement and the community under positive circumstances.

ALPHARETTA, GA -- The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety is putting the final touches on its Night Out celebration, an opportunity for the community to spend time with men and women who are sworn to protect the city.

The annual event will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 at Avalon, and features live demonstrations by public safety departments, special activities for children as well as trucks and equipment to educate the community about first responders and public safety.

The annual event promotes police-community partnerships and camaraderie "to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live," National Night Out states on its website. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, and allows both entities to come together under positive circumstances.

Special guests include Cherokee County’s Bear-Cat armored vehicle, AMR EMS, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Bomb Unit. Guests can also enjoy live demonstrations, touch-a-trucks and interactive activities for kids and families.

Alpharetta's Night Out is free and open to the public. Avalon is at 2200 Avalon Boulevard.
