ALPHARETTA/MILTON, GA — Along with crisp air and turning leaves, a fall tradition for many families is a visit to a local pumpkin patch. And while the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 has caused some of the region’s pumpkin patches to modify how they operate, quite a few will be open this fall. We have hours, attractions and activities as the pumpkin-picking season ramps up.
In many cases, coronavirus precautions have merely changed — not shut down — area pumpkin patches and their entertainment options. Below is a list of some of our favorite pumpkin patches near Alpharetta and Milton.

- Attractions: Hayrides at Scottsdale Farms are filled with hay bales and are pulled by a big farm tractor. In the family fun field, you’ll also find the corn maze, lawn games, and a sunflower field that makes a perfect photo backdrop. Other events include classes to make pumpkin succulents, fall tablescapes and fall containers. Pumpkin painting for toddlers will be at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. The class is limited to eight children, $5 per child. Reservations are needed and can be booked by calling 770-777-5875.
