People driving along Cogburn Road can expect delays over the upcoming next two weeks -- though, once that's over, they will have a smoother ride.

Weather permitting (and assuming the residential areas are finished), the City's paving project should move to Cogburn Road starting as early as Monday, June 28. The road will be resurfaced from Bethany Bend south to Webb Road.

While one lane should be passable at all times, drivers in that vicinity should expect delays. And, if they can, they can try alternate routes (like using Bethany Ben to Highway 9).

This work should last at least 10 days, though rainy weather could extend the timeline.

It is a continuation of an repaving and patching initiative that began in late April to improve more than 20 roads around Milton. You can read more about that project by clicking HERE.

The paving initiative is just one of several significant roadwork efforts underway in Milton.

On Thursday, the City's newest roundabout -- at Hopewell Road and Hamby Road -- reopened, as did Hamby Road (which had been closed temporarily to all but residential traffic). Crews managed to finish that project about four months ahead of schedule, thanks in part to the three-week detour around Hamby.

Workers continue to craft a roundabout further down Hopewell Road at Thompson, near Bloom and Bell Memorial Park. Both roundabouts are funded with TSPLOST revenues.
