Acting Public Works Director Sara Leaders, for example, will lay out a proposed project list for Birmingham Park. The roughly 200-acre City property in northern Milton, just past Fire Station 43, is beloved by nature enthusiasts, hikers and equestrians who enjoy riding along its trails.

The City has plans to improve Birmingham Park in the coming months, making it safer, more accessible and even more of a destination for local equestrians.

Also on Wednesday, Communications Director Greg Botelho will brief the committee on fireworks in Milton. He will review the current regulations and policies in Milton, as well as the multi-pronged, weeks-long communications plan to educate the general public on this issue.

State law dictates that fireworks are permissible on certain dates and times in Milton, including from 10 a.m. to midnight coming up on July 3 and 4. On all other dates, any noise louder than 55 decibels – such as most fireworks – violate Milton’s City Code.

City Manager Steve Krokoff also plans to attend Wednesday’s meeting to discuss fireworks and other issues of interest to Milton’s equestrian community.

Also on Wednesday, Equestrian Committee member Brian Maloney will lead a discussion about outreach efforts. These include the Committee’s involvement in Crabapple Fest, a trail-mapping exercise, and updates on PR/marketing initiatives.

Following the June 16 meeting, the Equestrian Committee is next scheduled to convene the evening of July 21.
