Free Rain Barrel Workshop Hosted Saturday In Alpharetta

Rainwater runoff from a typical house can produce hundreds of gallons per storm. A rain barrel can harvest some of this water for plants.

ALPHARETTA, GA — The City of Alpharetta and Fulton County Water Services will host a free rain barrel workshop on Saturday, July 13 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The workshop will take place at the Alpharetta Rucker Road Park and Farm located at 860 Rucker Road in Alpharetta. Preregistration is required for this event.

Rainwater runoff from a typical house can produce hundreds of gallons per storm. Why not use a rain barrel to harvest some of this excellent water source for lawns and plants.

Workshop attendees will receive a 55-gallon rain barrel with a diverter kit.

You must be a Fulton County resident and attend the class to get the rain barrel. One barrel per family.

Those wishing to attend the workshop must preregister by calling 678-297-6213 by no later than 4 p.m. on July 9. Space is very limited, and the class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
