Ivey's body was discovered inside the lake after he disappeared from a "large party" gathered at a home on Clipper Bay Drive, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson George Gordon previously told Patch.
According to police, officers were dispatched around 3:40 a.m. Dec. 18. Those officers met with a homeowner on Staghound Court who thought a burglary was in progress due to the loud noises, but officers stumbled upon a party at the home on Clipper Bay Drive.

While at the scene of the party, those officers were told that a male was missing from the gathering, Alpharetta DPS said.
Officers searched the wooded area and shoreline of the lake to no avail. They later launched a search of the lake, and found Ivey's body underwater near the rear of a home.
Alpharetta police detectives are investigating the "possibility that illegal narcotics played a role in the events that transpired," Gordon said. Others at the party were also transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, Gordon said detectives are still waiting for autopsy results from the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office. However, Gordon added it appears Ivey suffered an injury "when he broke glass in a front door." A teenager has been charged with maintaining a disorderly house in connection to the case, Gordon said.
A GoFundMe account was created to help Ivey's mother pay for expenses related to her son's sudden death. As of Friday morning, more than $25,000 was raised for the campaign.
