Holiday Food Drive Benefits North Fulton Community Charities

This is the third year for the City of Alpharetta Holiday Food Drive benefiting North Fulton Community Charities.

ALPHARETTA, GA — This year’s Season of Celebration event will look different but one thing that has remained a constant is a growing need for food security in our community. This is the third year of the City of Alpharetta Holiday Food Drive benefiting North Fulton Community Charities, whose mission is to build self-sufficiency and prevent homelessness and hunger by providing emergency assistance and enrichment programs in North Fulton.

Alpharetta’s Mayor Jim Gilvin once again asks the community to join him in this fight against hunger and help serve our neighbors in need. This community-wide effort to help re-stock the food pantry shelves will help North Fulton Community Charities meet their need of providing food assistance to more than 125 families per day.

"I am proud that even during a season filled with change and trying times of uncertainty, Alpharetta will come together to help our neighbors in need for the third year in a row," Gilvin said.

"We are so grateful for our continued partnership with the City of Alpharetta this year for the Holiday Food Drive," said Melody Fortin, Director of Food Pantry Services at North Fulton Community Charities. "North Fulton Community Charities will continue to see an increase in need for food assistance in our community so every donation is greatly needed. The North Fulton Community Charities food pantry is open to the public six days a week, year-round. Keeping food on the tables of our community wouldn’t be possible without efforts like this."

This year’s Holiday Food Drive will run Friday Dec. 18. There are seven drop-off bin locations and four outdoor collection trees around downtown Alpharetta accepting donations through Dec. 18.
