ALPHARETTA, GA — A man has died after he fell over the railing from the stairs leading down from Jekyll Brewing's downtown Alpharetta location, Alpharetta Police confirmed to Patch on Monday.

The man, who was 40-years-old and from Atlanta, was speaking with a female on the upper level of the building shortly before 8 p.m. on Friday night. Police were called after the man fell from the second floor landing onto the sidewalk, and suffered head trauma, according to the incident report.

He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

"There was a tragic incident involving a patron of Jekyll Brewing who fell off the staircase Friday night, resulting in him passing way," Alpharetta Public Information Officer Jeffrey Ross said.

This was an accident and there is no foul play suspected, Ross confirmed.
