Mills Springs Academy Donates Tons of Canned Goods to Food Bank
The cans donated by students, staff and families are enough to provide more than 12,600 meals, according to the Atlanta Food Bank.
Mill Springs Academy students, staff and their families donated more than 7.5 tons of canned food to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
This year's food drive netted 15,127 pounds of food that was donated to and picked up by the food bank. According to the food bank, this provides for 12,605 meals.
Cheri Harwood, Mills Springs Academy's communications director, said there is a little bit of friendly competition among the schools which spurs on the food drive. Communication Arts School is the clear winner between the five schools on campus, having gathered more than 6,000 cans on their own. But the entire Mill Springs community is proud to be able to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank in this way.

According to Headmaster, Robert Moore, "this is proof that small schools can do big things."
