Milton Begins Pavement Improvement Project

The Milton Public Works department has begun its routine right-of-way management program, which should go through March.

MILTON, GA -- The City of Milton Public Works department has officially kicked off its routine right-of-way management program. The initial phase includes what is known as pavement edging along the open road sections (i.e. those roads without curb and gutter).

According to the city, pavement edging removes the growth directly adjacent to the pavement, and promotes motorist safety as it helps ensure the water is effectively removed from the roadways. This work leaves what will initially appear to be a dirt edge along the edge of the road.

This pavement edging prepares the right-of-way for the second phase of work which is the actual, scheduled right-of-way mowing along Milton's roadways, the city said in a press release. This work is done in anticipation of and in preparation for the spring growth cycle with monthly mowing beginning in April and continuing through October.
