Milton Fire To Host COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic On Sunday
The City of Milton Fire-Rescue Department will offer a COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.

MILTON, GA — The City of Milton Fire-Rescue Department will offer a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Sunday, May 2.
Already, scores of people have received Moderna vaccines from Milton firefighters two days a week outside City Hall. The May 2 event offers another opportunity at a new location and time to reach more people.
It will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Istanbul Cultural Center, 591 North Main Street, near the Alpharetta line. People can park in the center's parking lot, then come in to get a vaccine.

There is no cost, and no appointments are necessary. People are asked to only bring an ID like a driver's license (for proof of age). Those getting their second Moderna dose should also bring a vaccine card indicating the time of their first shot. Milton Fire plans another clinic four weeks later at the same site, so that people can get their second Moderna dose.
To save time, people can fill out and submit this form ahead of time online.

Firefighters can give the vaccine to anyone 18 or over. Those receiving it do not need to be Milton residents. State officials have only said that vaccines given in Georgia to those living or working in the state.
Sunday's event builds off the Milton Fire-Rescue Department's already established vaccine clinics at Community Place, the building on the City Hall complex at 2006 Heritage Walk in Milton.
Since opening in the middle of April, roughly 120 people have received vaccines thus far from these Milton Fire clinics. They'll continue operating from Community Place for the foreseeable future between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
One exception, as it stands now, will be May 11 and May 13, when the Community Place vaccine clinic will take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The hope is that this will accommodate more people on different schedules, including those getting off work. There will be no morning vaccine clinics that week.
This initiative came about after Milton Fire partnered with Dr. Gichuki Kimani from ReVue Pharmacy, who supplies the vaccines being administered by the city's firefighters.
"This clinic has already exceeded our expectations," Milton Fire Chief Gabe Benmoussa said. "And this is only possible thanks to our partnership with Dr. Kimani and ReVue Pharmacy. We appreciate what they've done to help make this happen."
Anyone with questions about this vaccine program can email the city at covidsupport@cityofmiltonga.us. People can also use that address to coordinate the delivery of a vaccine to home bound Milton residents.
