Severe Weather Possible Thursday Night Across North Georgia

An isolated severe storm is possible Thursday night, mainly over west-central and northwest Georgia, the National Weather Service said.

NORTH GEORGIA — Severe storms are possible Thursday night in central and northwest Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across the area Thursday, mainly during the afternoon hours. A few storms could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail as the primary threats. An isolated severe storm is also possible, mainly over west-central and northwest Georgia.

Additional periods of showers and thunderstorms can be expected Friday and Saturday. The risk for a few strong to severe storms will exist both days, with the threat of locally heavy rain, strong to damaging winds and hail.

A brief tornado will also be possible, especially Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
