Teen Driver Charged With Racing On Ga. 400
Two vehicles reached speeds up to 95 miles per hour on Ga. 400 during rush-hour traffic, an Alpharetta police incident report said.

ALPHARETTA, GA — An 18-year-old male was charged with reckless driving after police captured him racing another vehicle during the evening rush-hour period on Ga. 400 in Alpharetta. Andrew Manuel Aguana was charged by Alpharetta police with racing on the highways or streets, reckless driving, and speeding following the Nov. 21 incident.
An officer patrolling the area of Mansell Road and Ga. 400 around 6:40 p.m. made a right turn to enter the Georgia Hospitality Highway to go northbound. While making that turn, a silver Infiniti G35 caught the officer's attention, as it made a left turn in front of the cop.
The Infiniti quickly accelerated on the ramp while passing several cars, and the officer soon caught up with the Infiniti and followed the vehicle. The silver car pulled up alongside a black Infiniti G35, which was in the next lane over.

"Both vehicles were matching each other's speeds, which ranged from 80 mph up to 95 mph in a 65 mph zone," the officer said in the report.
The cop notified dispatch that the two vehicle were possibly racing and, as both cars passed under the Haynes Bridge Road bridge, "they quickly accelerated back up to a high rate of speed at the same time."

The officer activated the patrol car's emergency lights, and the silver Infiniti pulled over while the black Infiniti continued to drive northbound on Ga. 400. According to the report, Aguana, the driver of the silver Infiniti, was removed from the car, placed in handcuffs and told he was being arrested.
Two passengers inside the vehicle were told they should find alternate routes home, as the Infiniti was going to be impounded. Aguana was transported to the Alpharetta City Jail for processing. The driver of the black Infiniti, which had a Florida-based drive-out tag, has not been located at this time.
