Athens Man Named Top LongHorn Steakhouse’s Grill Master
In cooking competition, Fidelmar "Fidi" Rodriguez of Athens wins title as LongHorn Steakhouse's Grill Master.
ATHENS, GA -- An Athens man has emerged as the grilling champion in a national cooking competition put on by LongHorn Steakhouse. Fidelmar “Fidi” Rodriguez beat out six other finalists for the crown, or chef's hat, and gets to take home a $10,000 grand prize.
The grilling competition, part of LongHorn Steakhouse’s Steak Master Series, highlights employees that dazzle on the grill. Rodriguez has been with LongHorn for more than six years, starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to the grill, according to a news release. Fidi said that he plans to donate part of his winnings to a good cause. This year, more than 5,000 team members at LongHorn have vied for the title of top grill master.
