Dad, 3-Year-Old Daughter, Killed In Suspected Murder-Suicide: PD

ATHENS, GA — A man and his three-year-old daughter were found deceased at the Hampton Inn on West Broad Street in Athens Saturday and police are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the location at 2200 West Broad Street just before 1 p.m. Police say hotel staff said they were unable to get into an occupied room.

When officers entered the room, they located the bodies of the man and his daughter. Police said the man was in his 40s.

Police said they cannot positively the cause of death at this time. The man and the child have been transported to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
