GA League Rolls Into Heritage Park This Sunday for Middle and High School MTB Race

Tampa Bay Bucs Super Bowl Champ/2 x Pro Bowler, Brad Johnson, and NICA President, Austin McInerny, to Attend GA League MTB Race this SUNDAY

Special guests, Former Tampa Bay Bucs Super Bowl Champ and 2 x Pro Bowler, Brad Johnson, as well as National Interscholastic Cycling League (NICA) President, Austin McInerny, will attend the Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League (GA League) 4th mountain biking race of the season for middle and high school athletes this Sunday, October 22nd at Heritage Park, located at 2543 Macon Hwy, Watkinsville, GA 30677. The Middle School Boys will roll out for the first start of the day at 8:30am. Sophomore Boys will get the start at 9:45am for all the High School Boys races. The Varsity girls will get the start for all the girl’s races at 1:15pm. Click HERE to view start times for all categories. Forty-seven teams and 400+ student-athletes from across Georgia and parts of South Carolina are expected to compete in the race. View a map of all teams HERE.

The Oconee County Composite MTB team, in their first year in the league, is currently in first place in the overall race series. View the Individual and Team Race Series Results HERE.

On Saturday, October 21st from 1-2pm, Terri Watts, 2017 IMBA National Enduro Series Champion, 2017 U.S. National Enduro Champion and Athens 706 Project Team Member, will be on hand for a Meet and Greet prior to the NICA GRiT All Girls Pre-Ride at Heritage Park. MORE INFO

The Georgia League is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, and an affiliate league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), providing exclusive mountain biking programs for middle and high students. The Georgia League is one of twenty-one leagues in twenty states overseen by NICA, established in 2009. Over 14,000 student-athletes and 6,200 licensed coaches participate in NICA programs across the nation.
