This celebration of holiday songs will include African Gloria, La Bonne Nouvelle (O Sing Glad Tidings), Ave Maria, Imagine a World, and traditional favorites such as Deck the Halls, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire, and Sleigh Ride. Rounding out the program, the audience will be invited to join the Georgia Children’s Chorus in the annual sing-along of traditional carols. The diverse musical styles of the singers, ages 8-18 from across Northeast Georgia, will be directed by Carol Reeves and accompanied by Lynn Faglier.

The preconcert music will be provided by the woodwind quintet, Wood ‘n Nickel. They will also accompany the Chorus on several selections during the program.

The Georgia Children’s Chorus (GCC) is a 117-voice children’s chorus in-residence at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. GCC singers ages 8-18 from the Athens area achieve high artistic standards in a nurturing atmosphere. They build teamwork, self-expression and confidence—developing chorally while having fun.
