Harbor Club Honored as “Best Georgia Community of the Year”

Harbor Club, a stunning, 1,000-acre lake and golf community on 19,000-acre Lake Oconee, has been honored with the 2018 Bliss Award for “Best Georgia Community of the Year” from Real Estate Scorecard.

Real Estate Scorecard provides in-depth research and candid insight into the overall happiness and satisfaction of over 390 master-planned communities in the Southeast. Each year, they honor the 'best' with a Bliss Award in fifteen categories.

In their evaluation Real Estate Scorecard remarked, “Last year, we honored Harbor Club for their outstanding achievements as one of the finest lake communities in the South. They continue to strive for excellence in both resident satisfaction and modern lifestyle amenities. Driving through the neighborhood year after year, it is clear to us that their stewardship is deliberate and long term. From the curb appeal to the meticulously maintained amenities.”

Real Estate Scorecard also writes unbiased real estate reviews providing in-depth information about popular gated communities in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Central America, all in an effort to help people discover where to retire in the South.

According to Harbor Club General Manager Brandon Matney, “To be singled-out as the “Best in Georgia,” where premium communities range from oceanfront to mountaintop, is quite an honor for Harbor Club. We’re especially proud of the fact that our residents who were interviewed during the research period spoke so glowingly about the sense of family they find in our community.”

Real Estate Scorecard further described that, “There are still plenty of opportunities to build a dream home at Harbor Club with the latest technology and energy efficiency. And their Southern Living Inspired model home is available to tour, a 3,300 sq. ft. contemporary farm house located on #11 green of the lakefront golf course.”

The expanding roster of amenities was also a key factor in family-owned Harbor Club earning the “Best Georgia Community of the Year” recognition. The community recently unveiled a sparkling new fitness, recreation and special event campus called The Grove, which is located near the community’s entrance gate. They also are adding a second modular dry boat storage building at its award-winning marina and restaurant facility called The Boathouse. And accolades continue to pour in for Harbor Club’s championship golf course, as GOLF Magazine recently ranked it the “#4 Best Course You Can Play in Georgia.”
