Harbor Club on Lake Oconee Real Estate Sales Jump 15% in 2019
Community Celebrates Fifth Straight Year of Double-Digit Sales Growth
Greensboro, Ga. – With the year-end numbers all tallied, Harbor Club Properties has announced a 15% increase in real estate sales compared to 2018, according to the Lake Country Board of Realtors.
Harbor Club on Lake Oconee reports that $33.1 million in home, homesite, cottage and townhome properties were sold last year compared to $28.8 million in 2018. The 2019 sales activity represents the fifth consecutive year of double-digit percentage increase in sales at the community.
The most active home sales landed in the $600-800,000 range, a value price compared to competitors in the market. The most popular homes in that price range were situated overlooking Harbor Club’s award-winning golf course. Additionally, the community welcomed 56 new construction builds by existing property owners, builders and Harbor Club’s own in-house Patriot Builders.

Harbor Club also welcomed 52 new families to the community in 2019, and added 50 new club members. Harbor Club continues to be the only major community on Lake Oconee to offer residents a social membership option. Additionally, they have a variety of non-resident and corporate golf membership programs available.
The $33.1 million in sales in 2019 was comprised of 72 transactions, half of which (50%) were driven by Harbor Club Properties, a partnership between Harbor Club and the Atlanta-based sales and marketing specialists, Ansley Developer Services, led by Director of Real Estate Sales Kathy Phillips. The other half resulted from an engaged realtor community at Lake Oconee.

Harbor Club enjoyed a milestone year in 2019 in other respects, building on its third year as a handpicked Southern Living Inspired Community by the magazine’s editors, whose criteria for the recognition includes “neighborhoods marked by charm, taste and Southern spirit that embody a distinctive pride of place.”
Harbor Club celebrated that partnership last fall as they opened to public tours their second Southern Living Inspired Home, a welcoming 3,418-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bath plan framing the 3rd green of the Weiskopf/Morrish-designed course, offering magnificent views of a large pond and waterfall.
The past year also saw Harbor Club earning national accolades, including:
- Harbor Club’s engaging lakefront golf course continues to be regarded as the “#4 Golf Course You Can Play” in Georgia by the GOLF Magazine golf course raters panel.
- And Harbor Club continued to expand its amenity base by opening a six-court pickleball center located at the community’s new amenity campus called The Grove. They also completed work on a second dry-stack boat storage building at their award-winning marina facility, The Boathouse.
- Harbor Club continues to be involved in more than 40 local charities/organizations including The Rotary, The Elks, Putnam and Greene County Chambers of Commerce, area hospitals, Oconee Regional Humane Society and Lake Oconee Academy.
In the year ahead Harbor Club will continue to expand the breadth of its home building products with a wide range of size and price points. Homes as small as 2,100 square feet to over 4,000 square feet will be priced from the 300’s to 800’s, providing new home options to a variety of consumer needs.
