"Inspecting Carol" a holiday farce

Town & Gown Players present "Inspecting Carol" by Daniel Sullivan and The Seattle Repertory Theatre

The Town & Gown Players present a production of Inspecting Carol, to be held December 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13 at 8 PM and December 7 and 14 at 2 PM at the Athens Community Theatre. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors, and members, and $8 for students and members on Thursday. Tickets may be purchased by calling the theatre at 706-548-3854, or online through the website, www.townandgownplayers.org.

Inspecting Carol, a raucous attempt by a struggling theatre company to produce “A Christmas Carol” as its annual fundraiser, is sure to delight! It’s a Christmas play without the sentimentality – a performance even Scrooge would love. Go behind the scenes in this piece of metatheatre and see the struggles, the backstage drama, and the heart that goes into any stage show. Visions clash, tempers flare, and crises are addressed with hilarious results that will make or break The Soapbox Playhouse!
