Oconee Youth Playhouse holds auditions for Beauty & The Beast

Oconee Youth Playhouse holds auditions for K & up for its next production: Beauty & The Beast.

Oconee Youth Playhouse announces audition for its next production – Beauty & The Beast. Individual singing auditions for high school students and older will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 5:15-6:45 p.m. at Oconee Youth School of Performance, 1050 Jamestown Blvd. in Watkinsville. Auditioners should email oconeeyouth@gmail.com for a 5-minute time slot and bring sheet music.

A group dance audition for high school students and up (both male and female) also will be held Oct. 8 from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Any dance auditioners who have not participated in the individual singing auditions will be asked to do a group singing audition at the start of the dance audition.

Group auditions for K-8th graders will be held Saturday, Oct. 18. No preparation is necessary for the group auditions. The schedule by age group is: 10-10:45 a.m. (K-2nd grade), 11-11:45 a.m. (3rd-5th grade) and noon-12:45 (6th-8th grade).

OYP first presented a production of Beauty & The Beast in 2007 at The Classic Center Theatre in downtown Athens. The coming production will be at the Oconee County Civic Center Jan. 9-11 and Jan. 16-18, 2015.
