Possibly Armed Man Captured in West Athens (UPDATE)
Residents who live in the area were urged to stay in their homes.

UPDATE: Police have taken 29-year-old Benjamin Sittig into custody.
ATHENS, GA — Athens-Clarke County police are currently working an active scene on Darlington Station Road in West Athens, looking for a subject who is said to be armed with a handgun.
According to police, he is described as a 29-year-old white male with shoulder length long dark hair, a beard and a thin build. He is approximately 6-feet-2 inches tall and is wearing a gray or blue shirt, a distinctive red and black motorcycle style jacket, blue jeans and red shoes. Police have identified him as Benjamin Sittig.

"If you live in this area, please stay in your home while police are attempting to locate this individual," police said in a statement. "If you see him, or a subject matching his description, do not approach. Notify the Athens-Clarke Co Police immediately by dialing 9-1-1."
