Come out on Saturday, October 21 for an evening of storytelling by ten of the most innovative and dynamic storytellers in Georgia for the low price of $10. Part of the Classic City Fringe Festival, this night of storytelling for ADULTS only will be held at Pixel & Ink Studio, 766 W Broad St, Athens.
The evening features Chetter the Storyteller, The Story Bitches, Bad Ass Storytelling Quartet, and Cynthia Rintye.
First up will be Chetter The Storyteller with “7th & Cypress: Spilling all the tea with an extra dose of sugar!” stories of real-life struggles and challenges of being a gay, black man in the Deep South. A native Virginian who performs throughout the United States, Chetter Galloway will bring his animated and energetic presence to the stage as he tells these very personal tales with humor, southern fried flamboyance, and flavored with some African American seasoning.
Next up is The Story Bitches with “Women with Words”. Funny, naughty, sexy with a twist of sarcasm, Story Bitches intentionally craft stories around seeing the humor in everyday living. The Story Bitches feature Debbie From, Melanie Knauff, Tricia Stearns with Special Guest Bitch Anthony Vinson. These five tellers will share stories about childhood, college, dating, marriage, kids, money, religion & sex that will keep audiences laughing.
Stories continue with Bad Ass Storytelling Quartet and “Protest!” featuring Sarah Beth Nelson, Shannon McNeal, Denise DesSoye, plus regional guest Alan Black. Back for their third year at Classic City Fringe Fest, The Bas Ass Storytelling Quartet will bring their infamous collection of bawdy, edgy, true personal stories shot straight from the heart. Their program includes four stories of personal protest from the sparks that ignite to the foundations they rattle to the changes they hope to see in the world.
Closing out storytelling for the evening is Cynthia Rintye with “Tales of the Macabre”. Arguably the best ghost storyteller in Atlanta, Cynthia will perform decidedly adult, bawdy, bloody, and bone-chilling stories and songs including a murder ballad about a killer who has no regrets and an erotic tale of a man’s obsession with his father’s new wife. A powerful and captivating entertainer, Cynthia has performed ghost stories with the Lawrenceville Ghost Tours for 13 seasons.
For admission to the entire festival, all-access passes are available for $25. There will also be $10 tickets available Saturday night for admission to all performances that night at Pixel & Ink.
