A 'Tail' of Two Dogs

Both teams need this conference win to remain viable in the East.

This weekend’s matchup will be a ‘tail’ of two dogs. Smokey and the Vols are sure to have fire in their bellies. Especially, after the defeat they suffered to us last season. The replay of Howard’s recalled touchdown has been like a song bomb of Glory, Glory to Old Georgia for the Vols. They want to erase that image with a victory and in our house.

The Vols will be refreshed and renewed after having an open week. While Troy was a stroll through the park for us, we cannot assume ole’ Smokey will roll over and want his belly scratched. Both teams need this conference win to remain viable in the East.

Each team has its share of young pups and there is sure to be some scrapping between the hedges. Saturday will also be an opportunity for Gurley to get his chance to nip at Smokey’s heels. His injuries from last season kept him on the porch. Saturday he will show these young pups what it’s like to run with a big Dawg.

Those of us that live for the edge of your seat, heart pounding and finger crossing games have not forgotten the heart stopping moments of last year’s game. This year’s match-up is primed to deliver the same exhilarating moments. Bear may need extra catnip this weekend if these two dogs repeat last year’s game.
