Several government meetings will be held this week.

Here's what you might want to know going into this week:
Government meetingsÂ
- The mayor and commission will meet for a work session at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 120 Dougherty St. Â
- The Athens-Clarke County Planning Commission will meet this week. An agenda review session will be held today at 7 p.m. at the Dougherty Street Governmental Building Auditorium, followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the same location.Â
- The Athens Downtown Development Authority will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Athens Chamber of Commerce.Â
- Athens GOP meeting today — U.S. Senate candidate Karen Handel is featured speaker
- Author visit at Avid Bookshop on Tuesday — Matthew Guinn, author of "The Resurrectionist"
- University of Georgia organic and sustainable agriculture experts will host the second annual Organic Twilight Tour on Thursday Â
- "Into the Woods" performed by the Circle Ensemble Theatre Company on FridayÂ
