2018 Celebration Bowl And Sneakerbowl Gala: Atlanta This Weekend

ATLANTA, GA – Another weekend, another enticing medley of events here in the city of Atlanta. Enjoy a holiday party at Krog Street Market or the Fernbank Museum of National History. In the mood for live music from some of today’s biggest artists? Then head over to State Farm Arena for Power 96.1’s Jingle Ball.

Take advantage of various deals and specials from tenants at Krog Street Market during their holiday party. The party will be kept festive thanks to a DJ playing holiday tunes all night. Fernbank After Dark Holiday Party

Neighborhood: Druid Hills

Fernbank’s monthly, adults-only after dark series returns this month with a special holiday theme. Enjoy cocktails and small plates while taking in the soulful tunes of Alex Guthrie. Exhibits, including Nature’s Superheroes: Life at the Limits and Winter Wonderland, will also be open. Tickets to Fernbank After Dark are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Power 96.1’s Jingle Ball

Neighborhood: Downtown

Local radio station Power 96.1 is bringing a who’s who of talent to Atlanta for their annual Jingle Ball concert. Artists scheduled to perform include G-Eazy, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, and Calvin Harris. As an added bonus for concertgoers, $1 of each ticket sold will benefit the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

2018 Celebration Bowl

Neighborhood: Downtown

Bowl season has officially begun. And one of the first pairs of teams set to battle it out on the field is the North Carolina A&T Aggies and Alcorn State Braves. The Celebration Bowl kicked off in 2015 and in that time has served as a celebration of the legacy and history of History Black Colleges and Universities. Saturday’s game will be preceded by a number of events, including a Fan Fest and Celebration Bowl Trophy Tour.

SneakerBall Atlanta Gala

Neighborhood: Oakland City

Lace up your hottest pair of kicks and head over to The B Complex for the SneakerBall Gala. At this gala/fundraiser, attendees will be able to party with a purpose. The event helps in providing new sneakers for less fortunate youth in Atlanta and will also aid in raising funds for creative programs and mentorship.

The Atlanta Comic Convention

Neighborhood: Emory

Taking place four times a year, the Atlanta Comic Convention dubs itself the “fan-friendliest show in the South.” Those in attendance can expect one million comic books, toys and more. For this final convention of 2018, their special guest will be Craig Hamilton (artist of “Aquaman,” “X-Men,” “Green Lantern” and more).

Holiday Clothing Swap

Neighborhood: East Point

Calling all thrifters and fashionistas! If you’re looking to freshen up your wardrobe without breaking the bank, check out the Holiday Clothing Swap hosted by Social Cayana. For every item you bring and dollar you spend at Café ULU, you’ll receive tickets to shop. Clothing not “swapped” will be donated to a local shelter.
