Afropunk Festival Comes To Atlanta This Weekend
The two-day Afropunk Presents The Carnival of Consciousness Atlanta will be held on Windsor Street near downtown Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA - The Afropunk Festival, a colorful celebration of life, art and culture, comes to Atlanta this weekend. The annual festival, officially Afropunk Presents The Carnival of Consciousness Atlanta, pays homage to cultural cornerstones through music, film, skate, and art.

Opening acts include Flatbush Zombies, Princess Nokia, Jamila Woods, Kevin Abstract, and OSHU.

The event "will be a festival of contemporary black expression and youthful black consciousness," the group says in a press release. Attendees can expect to witness "collaborations across genres and disciplines, and no physical boundaries, in the style of old salons."
The two-day event will be held at 787 Windsor near downtown Atlanta. Prices are $45 for one day and $80 for both days.
