ATLANTA, GA – With Valentine’s Day on Friday, there’s expectedly a lot of exciting events taking place in the city this weekend. In addition to unique Valentine’s Day events such as Hampton + Hudson’s Valentine’s Day Hans Solo Party and NETHERWORLD’s Scream In The Dark, there are a number of other activities to look forward to.

There’s the Mardi Gras Streetcar Adventure for revelers age 21 and over. And for a family-friendly option, you can check out a workshop at the Michael C. Carlos Museum or visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden for free.

Free Admission At The Atlanta Botanical Garden

Neighborhood: Midtown

How’s this for an unexpected Valentine’s Day treat? The Atlanta Botanical Garden will be free to visit for everyone this entire weekend. The garden’s free admission offer was created in memory of media proprietor and philanthropist Anne Cox Chambers.

Valentine’s Day Hans Solo Party

Neighborhood: Inman Park

If you’re flying solo this Valentine’s Day, Hampton + Hudson is hosting a perfectly themed Valentine’s Day party ideal for singles. The restaurant’s Valentine’s Day Hans Solo Party will feature a DJ and a handful of drink specials. There will be $5 Solo cocktail specials, as well as $2 Solo cup beer specials. And "Star Wars" will, of course, be playing on all televisions.

Artful Stories At The Michael C. Carlos Museum

Neighborhood: Druid Hills

The Michael C. Carlos Museum is once again holding an event perfect for littles ones. This weekend, the museum will host Artful Stories: Hanuman’s Adventure from Indian Tales Anthology. As part of the event, children will learn the exciting feats of the monkey god, Hanuman. They will then explore the "Transcendent Deities of India" exhibit, and later head to the museum’s studio to create Hanuman-inspired crowns.

Mardi Gras Streetcar Adventure

Neighborhood: Downtown

New Orleans may be hundreds of miles away, but the good times will still be rolling right here in Atlanta. Described as “Atlanta's largest Mardi Gras event,” the Mardi Gras Streetcar Adventure will take attendees to various locations throughout downtown Atlanta and Old Fourth Ward. At these locations, there will be food and drink specials, complimentary drinks and shots, and a live New Orleans street band.

SweetWater 23rd Anniversary Throwdown

Neighborhood: Midtown

To celebrate its latest anniversary, SweetWater Brewing Co. will quite literally be throwing down at their palatial brewery. To honor the occasion, the brewery will host the beer and music-heavy SweetWater 23rd Anniversary Throwdown. Those in attendance can expect performances from Arrested Development, Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Dumpstaphunk.

NETHERWORLD: Scream In The Dark

Neighborhood: Stone Mountain

For those who have grown tired of romantic dinners for Valentine’s Day, check out Scream In The Dark 2020. Presented by NETHERWORLD, the one-night-only event invites scare-hungry sweethearts to “Navigate the darkened corridors of NETHERWORLD with only a small LED candle to light your way.” Tickets to Scream In The Dark 2020 can be purchased for $25.95.

Avondale Bend & Beer Yoga Sundays

Neighborhood: Avondale Estates

Yoga and beer? Now that definitely sounds like a great way to end the weekend. Once again, Wild Heaven Beer will host its Bend & Beer Yoga Sundays at its Avondale Estates location. Participants will take part in a free upbeat all-levels yoga class with Innercise Yoga, and will have the opportunity to enjoy a sample beer after the class.
