ATLANTA — With Independence Day just days away, what better way to celebrate the nation's 243rd birthday than with America's pastime? The 1st-place Atlanta Braves (50-34) will host the Philadelphia Phillies (43-40) and Miami Marlins (32-49) this week, and fireworks shows were planned on the 4th and 5th.

The slate of Phillies games will be played at 7:30 p.m. as the Braves attempt to extend their lead over their division rivals and keep pace with the hot Los Angeles Dodgers (56-29) for rights to home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
