ATLANTA, GA — Memorial Day weekend is finally here, and with temperatures set for the 90s over the next few days, it certainly feels like the unofficial start to summer. In celebration of the holiday, Atlanta will host one of the biggest music festivals in the city: the Atlanta Jazz Festival.

If you’d rather bypass the Jazz Fest’s massive crowds, there’s also the Decatur Arts Festival and the Atlanta R&B/Neo Soul Wine Festival. And be sure to fuel up for the weekend at the BeltLine Brunch at TWO urban licks or The Brasserie and Neighborhood Café.

Decatur Arts Festival

Neighborhood: Decatur

The Decatur Arts Festival is one of several Memorial Day weekend favorites taking place in the city. The fun is set to kick off on Friday with ArtWalk. Described as “Decatur’s largest one-night art experience,” ArtWalk will feature exhibits at various shops and galleries throughout downtown Decatur. Additionally, several shops will offer complimentary snacks and drinks during the event.

Day 1: Year Five Anniversary

Neighborhood: Midtown

For fans of local brew, head to Midtown and toast to five powerhouse years with the Atlanta-based Orpheus Brewing. Beginning on Friday, Orpheus will kick off a weekend's worth of anniversary festivities. Fans of the brew can expect fifth anniversary bottle releases, six new stouts and more than 10 brand new beers on tap. On Friday, Teranga Catering Without Borders will be on hand serving hungry attendees.

BeltLine Brunch

Neighborhood: Poncey-Highland

Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, TWO urban licks and The Brasserie and Neighborhood Café at Parish have teamed up to host a special BeltLine Brunch. Depending on the restaurant, diners can expect a variety of unique fare, including Pimento Cheese BLTs, Eggs Hemingway and the classic Chicken & Waffles.

Atlanta Jazz Festival

Neighborhood: Midtown

Here in Atlanta, the Atlanta Jazz Festival has become synonymous with Memorial Day Weekend. Each year, thousands flock to Piedmont Park for live jazz, cold drinks and delicious bites. Among the artists hitting the three different stages at Jazz Fest on Saturday are Makaya McCraven, Alicia Olatuja and Lizz Wright.

Brew At The Zoo

Neighborhood: Grant Park

Lions, and tigers and...beer? That’s exactly what you can expect at Zoo Atlanta’s Brew At The Zoo. Animal lovers of drinking age will be treated to a selection of more than 70 brews (and a small selection of wine). As an added perk, your ticket to Brew At The Zoo will help support conservation initiatives to protect species and their habitats.

MomoCon

Neighborhood: Downtown

Geared towards fans of Japanese anime, American animation, comics, video games and tabletop games, MomoCon is an all-ages conference taking place in the heart of Atlanta. In addition to concerts and plenty of gaming, MomoCon will also include a plethora of special guests from the worlds of animation, gaming and comics.

Atlanta R&B/Neo Soul Wine Festival

Neighborhood: Stone Mountain

Round off the weekend with an assortment of local wines and performances from several R&B and soul acts at the Atlanta R&B/Neo Soul Wine Festival. Admission to the festival includes a souvenir wine glass, various wine tastings and live entertainment. Food will also be available for purchase from vendors.
