 Officers have recovered one of the carjacked vehicles as of this morning: (2021 Audi A5)The vehicle will be processed for fingerprints and further evidence. 

The other carjacked vehicle, a 2016 Lexus GS, remains outstanding at this time. The investigation continues.

Preliminary Information:

On 7/3/21 around 12:09 am, officers responded to 425 Chapel St. SW in reference to a carjacking. Upon arrival, officers met with a male and female victim who stated they were robbed and carjacked at gunpoint. Preliminary investigation indicates the victims had just parked their separate vehicles in the parking garage at 425 Chapel St. SW. As they exited their vehicles and approached the elevator together, they were confronted by 5 juvenile male suspects with handguns. The suspects demanded their personal belongings including the keys to their vehicles. Once the victims complied the juvenile suspects then fled the parking garage in both of the victim’s vehicles. There were no injuries reported. The investigation continues.
