Preliminary Information: On June 29th, 2021, around 10:02 am, officers responded to Fletcher St. SW and Ira St SW in reference to pedestrians struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male and a 9-year-old male who were struck by a utility truck while riding a scooter. Both males sustained injuries from the accident and were transported to the hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation indicates the 18-year-old was riding a scooter with a 9-year-old male passenger when they were struck by the utility truck while crossing the intersection. The driver involved remained on scene and is cooperating with officers. Charges are not anticipated at this time as the investigation continues.
