Atlanta Police: Man Who Kicked Cat Turns Himself In

A July 1 viral video shows a cat being kicked across the parking lot of an Atlanta gas station.

ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta police have arrested a 22-year-old man who, they allege, was caught on camera kicking a cat across the parking lot of a city gas station. Jamari Davenport turned himself in Wednesday to the Fulton County jail and has been charged with misdemeanor cruelty to animals, the police said.

The cat has not been found, the police said, so the extent of its injuries is unknown.

The incident occurred on July 1 outside of a Chevron gas station in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Southwest Atlanta. A video of the violent attack was later uploaded to Instagram and went viral.
