Atlanta Woman Jailed In Stabbing Death: Police

Shaquanta Smith, 26, is accused of killing another woman during a dispute at an apartment complex, say police.

ATLANTA, GA — An Atlanta woman is behind bars after being charged with murder in the stabbing death of a local woman on Nov. 20. A police fugitive unit apprehended Shaquanta Alaysia Smith, 26, on Wednesday night and took her to the Fulton County Jail, the police said in a statement.

Smith is accused of stabbing Latrell Blackmon, 32, to death during a dispute, according to police.

Officers responded at about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 to an apartment complex in the 600 block of Cameron M. Alexander Boulevard in Northwest Atlanta. Upon arrival, they found Latrell, who was dead at the scene.
