Battle Of The Bands And Chinese New Year: Atlanta This Weekend
Enjoy music from the country's best and brightest college bands or get festive at a Chinese New Year celebration.

ATLANTA, GA — With a number of lively events set to take place in the upcoming days, you’re certainly going to need your energy this weekend. The weekend will start on a mellow note with a date night edition of Meet Your Museum at the High Museum. From there, Saturday will welcome Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus tour and the 2020 Honda Battle Of The Bands.
In celebration of Chinese New Year, head to Hawkers Asian Street Fare for a night of fun, food and festivities. And lastly, round out the weekend with a vegan food festival or the Atlanta Jewish Life Festival. Here’s what is happening around the city:
Meet Your Museum: Date Night

If you’re looking for a unique date night, the High Museum is always a great option. In fact, on Friday, the museum will host a special date night edition of Meet Your Museum. During this one-hour, docent-led tour, “you’ll discover how to find your way through the newly renovated galleries” and see some of the High’s most popular works.

The countdown is finally over! Oprah Winfrey’s much-anticipated 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus tour is heading to Atlanta. Winfrey has recruited a medley of inspiring celebrities for the tour, and the Atlanta stop is slated to include appearances from Julianne Hough and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Although the 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Atlanta stop is certainly a hot ticket, tickets to the event are still available.

ATL Wings Pub Crawl

From its storied history to a blossoming local arts scene, the city of Atlanta is known for many things. And most delicious of all, Atlanta is known for its tasty wings. From hot wings to lemon pepper wings, you’ll have the chance to sample a variety as part of the ATL Wings Pub Crawl. The crawl will make stops at several bars/restaurants, including Taco Mac, Hudson Grille Midtown and PONKO Chicken Midtown.

2020 Honda Battle Of The Bands

Battle Of The Bands, one of the city’s most iconic events, is set once again to take the city by storm. The annual event will include performances from a plethora of college bands, including Florida A&M University, Grambling State University and Benedict College. Tickets to Battle Of The Bands can be purchased for as low as $10.

Hawkers Asian Street Fare Chinese New Year Celebration
Neighborhood: Old Fourth Ward
What better way to celebrate the Chinese New Year than at Hawkers Asian Street Fare? Hawkers’ special celebration, which will honor the Year of the Rat, will include Hawkers red envelopes, giveaways and the opportunity to meet Chef James.

Atlanta Jewish Life Festival

Those in attendance at this year’s Atlanta Jewish Life Festival will be met with an assortment of Jewish and Israeli arts, food, music and cultural experiences. Founded with the mission “to create a sense of community throughout the geographically dispersed Jewish people of greater Atlanta,” the Atlanta Jewish Life Festival will take place in the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium.

The 2nd Annual Vegan Extravaganza
Neighborhood: West End
If you’ve yet to indulge in the plant-based, vegan fare that has quickly risen in popularity, let 2020 serve as your opportunity to do just that. Sunday’s Vegan Extravaganza is the perfect opportunity to sample a variety of vegan dishes. The festival will feature plenty of vegan food vendors, activities, speakers and much more.
